Our story started in 1997, when I worked with my older brother operating the first cabin cruises Fethiye. We were a small business; yet full of passion about sailing the Turkish Riviera. Our gulet yacht was 14 meters long, with four cabins, and we often ran cruises Kas, near Antalya. I was an apprentice, and started as a deck hand. I loved the Mediterranean lifestyle and spending time at sea, so gradually, as the years went by; I learned how to be an experienced sailor all angles, and finally became a captain, after I received my yacht master?s degree. At the same time, the family business kept growing and before long, we operated two traditional Turkish gulet boats. I took charge of onshore and offshore duties, which included maintenance of the boats in dry dock and paperwork management. I insisted on doing the fresh grocery shopping for each cruise and only recruited new staff members that had a passion for sailing. By listening to our customers, I ensured top quality service by personally welcoming them on board, adapting itineraries, and tailor making cruises according to their interests. Customers became friends and we often exchanged stories, about our travels. We chatted about the countries they had visited and I told them the secrets of the Turkish Riviera, because by this time, I knew every cove and bay of the islands and coastline. My knowledge enabled me to give tips to every passenger according to what they wanted to see and after a fantastic 8 years at my brothers? side, I decided to go solo.
